Italy’s new national carrier, ITA Airways, will soon take delivery of its first Airbus A350.
The first aircraft, which currently carries the registration F-WZFT (cn 270), has been painted at Shannon in Ireland pending delivery.
It will take the registration EI-IFB on delivery, and wears the full blue livery of ITA Airways.
This aircraft was built in 2018 for Hong Kong Airlines, but never delivered and has remained stored in Tarbes-Lourdes and Toulouse ever since.
Where Will ITA Fly its A350s
So far ITA Airways has had a cautious start, taking on a selection of the fleet and route network of defunct Alitalia, focusing mostly on domestic and European routes.
However, with its new A350 fleet, the airline is planning to expand its long-haul network significantly.
You can expect the ITA Airways A350s to fly to the following destinations from Rome Fiumicino:
- Buenos Aires Ezeiza
- Los Angeles International
- Miami International
- New York JFK
- Sao Paulo Guarulhos
The first service will operate to Los Angeles on 1 June 2022.
New York JFK is also scheduled to start on 1 June, suggesting the second of the four A350s will have been delivered by then.
Buenos Aires will start on 2 June, and Sao Paulo in October.
