Lufthansa City Airlines, a new subsidiary of the German national carrier, has revealed its first tranche of destinations ahead of its launch this summer.
The new short- and medium-haul airline will launch with a small fleet of Airbus A319 aircraft, two of which have already been painted, from April 2024.
Based at Munich, initial destinations to be served include:
- Berlin
- Birmingham
- Bordeaux
- Bremen
- Cologne/Bonn
- Dusseldorf
- Hamburg
- Hanover
- Manchester
The route network is expected to grow, and Lufthansa City’s fleet will also grow rapidly with some 40 Airbus A220-300 aircraft on order to be used by the airline.
For passengers, the onboard experience will be much the same as that on other Lufthansa European services, with onward connections possible across the Lufthansa Group and Star Alliance networks.
