Edelweiss is set to receive its first Airbus A350 aircraft later this year, ahead of entry into service in early 2025.

The first aircraft has recently emerged from the paintshop in Shannon, Ireland, wearing the full livery of the airline.

This aircraft is OE-LHF (msn 079), an A350-941 which previously flew with LATAM Airlines as PR-XTG and Qatar Airways as A7-AMA.

Eagle eyed viewers will notice that the livery has been modified slightly over that worn by previous Edelweiss aircraft.

The airline says: “the contours of the flower [on the tail] have been made finer, giving it a more modern appearance. Thanks to the enlarged red area, one leaf of the Edelweiss flower now extends as far as the aircraft fuselage. The Edelweiss is visible on the inside of the Sharklets at the wingtips, making it a popular photo subject for passengers on board.”

Nina Wach, Head of Brand Management & Marketing Communication at Edelweiss, is looking forward to seeing the first Airbus A350 in the modernised design and is already looking to the future: “In addition to the six Airbus A350s, the existing Airbus A320 fleet will also be painted with the adapted design step by step. However, this will take place during the already planned repaints and will take place over the next few years.”
