The first Airbus A220 for Air Canada has flown at Montreal Mirabel, wearing the carrier’s full livery.

The first test flight occurred on 12 December ahead of the type’s delivery to the airline. Air Canada has ordered 45 A220-300s – the first airline in North America to order the type.

It is planning to use the A220 on various domestic routes in Canada as well as to the United States. The A220’s unequalled performance and range capability will enable the airline to serve new markets, such as Montreal to Seattle and Toronto to San Jose, connecting the carrier’s main hubs to the West Coast, as of Spring 2020.

This aircraft is C-GROV, cn 55067.
