Air France has unveiled its new airline brand, JOON, which will be targeted at younger professionals and offer competitive prices on scheduled services from Paris Charles de Gaulle to popular European and long haul destinations.
According to Air France:
JOON is the newest member of the Air France family, designed for today’s generation: spontaneous, keen on new experiences and absolutely digital. An impromptu city break or a fun roadtrip halfway around the world? A co-working session only 2 hours away from Paris, or a sunny getaway? JOON knows how to please those for whom travel is part of their everyday life.
The initial branding information shows Airbus A320, A340-300 and A350-900 aircraft mocked up in the airline’s blue and white livery. We can expect these aircraft to come from the existing Air France fleet and its future deliveries in the case of the A350s.
Its visual identity is based on an electric blue colour code symbolizing the airline’s dynamic attitude, as well as the sky, space and travel.
JOON is targeted at the 18-35 age group, but whether this will be enforced in any way remains to be seen.Â
In a world where Norwegian, LEVEL and other carriers are challenging the status quo of the established airlines, it makes sense for Air France-KLM to introduce their own brand for services out of its hubs.
JOON will commence flying in autumn 2017, with long-haul routes expected to start in summer 2018.
