Delta Introducing the A220-300 in November

Delta Air Lines will introduce the Airbus A220-300 on 16 November.

The airline has already been operating the smaller A220-100 for a couple of years, which is proving popular with pilots and passengers. It has over 30 examples in service, with more on order.

Now, the airline will take on the larger -300 model.

It has 50 of the type on order, with the first delivered in late October 2020, and further examples following over coming months. They will ultimately replace older types like the Boeing 717 in Delta’s fleet.

 

Where Will Delta’s A220-300s Fly?

The fleet will initially be based at Delta’s Salt Lake City hub. According to RoutesOnline, the initial destinations will be:

Salt Lake City – Austin eff 25NOV20 1 daily
Salt Lake City – Houston eff 16NOV20 1 daily
Salt Lake City – Sacramento eff 25NOV20 1 daily
Salt Lake City – San Jose CA 1 flight scheduled on 27NOV20

Further destinations will follow, as well as other bases which the type will operate from.
