Summary
British Airways is the UK national airline, and is based entirely in London for its flights. However, this is split across three airports: Heathrow, London City and Gatwick.
Gatwick’s British Airways flights cover domestic, European and long-haul services, but not to the same extent as those at Heathrow.
Traditionally, Gatwick’s services have covered leisure and some business destinations, as well as long-haul services to the Caribbean and other select markets.
To serve Gatwick’s routes, British Airways bases a mix of its long-haul fleet, as well as the aircraft flown by its relatively new BA EuroFlyer division, which took control of a number of British Airways aircraft.
Here’s a run-down of the aircraft based at London Gatwick:
BA EuroFlyer Fleet
At present, BA EuroFlyer has a mixed fleet of 11 Airbus A320s and 11 A321s based at Gatwick.

Other BA Gatwick-based Fleets
There are usually ten Boeing 777-236ER aircraft based at Gatwick from the mainline British Airways long-haul fleet.
These aircraft often rotate between Gatwick and Heathrow, and so there is no definitive list of which will be based at any particular time.
British Airways Gatwick Maintenance
As well as passenger flights, Gatwick is also home to one of the British Airways Base Operations, which occupies Hangar 6 on the south side of the airport and carries out maintenance on the airline’s fleet.
The actual aircraft looked after depends on the airline’s needs, and will often cover types already based at Gatwick. It works in conjunction with other BA maintenance sites at Heathrow, Cardiff and Glasgow.

Have been flying out of LGW since 1966, first trip to LGW in a BUA BAC 1-11-200, and many more times since in a wide variety of types including the 747. The adjacent fast train service to the airport, a winner from the very start.
LGW was always good for unusuals, once saw an Israeli Air Force C-97 there and the B757 prototype .
