A major redevelopment at Baltimore Washington BWI Airport has begun that will help it better accommodate its two biggest carriers following their recent merger.
BWI’s $44 million redevelopment will see the B and C Concourses and the terminal Connector expanded and improved, along with a new 9-lane security checkpoint addition.
Since AirTran and Southwest Airlines merged, the two largest carriers at BWI now require greater connectivity at the airport. This expansion will see the addition of a connector link between the two concourses so that the merged airline’s passengers can seamlessly transfer between flights. The work is being carried out by M.C. Dean.
