The uncertainty surrounding the future of American Eagle following the merger of American Airlines and US Airways has been cleared with the announcement that the regional and feeder carrier will be rebranded as ‘Envoy’ from the Spring.
All ten carriers currently providing regional services for American and US Airways (under both American Eagle and US Airways Express brands) will be brought under this banner.
American Eagle president Pedro Fabregas said in a statement. “By taking on the Envoy name, we can better differentiate ourselves from the competition and better market ourselves.” The carrier currently employs around 14,000 workers and has taken on a lot of extra coverage with the US Airways merger.
