A First Look at the New Croatia Airlines A220

by Matt Falcus

Croatia Airlines is eagerly awaiting delivery of its first Airbus A220 aircraft, and this week has revealed the first look at the new aircraft, as well as a modified livery which will be used on the new type.

The airline has 15 Airbus A220 aircraft on order, comprising three A220-100 models, and 12 -300s.

They will join the existing Airbus A319, A320 and de Havilland Canada DHC-8 Q400 fleet, but eventually replace all aircraft and become the sole type operated by the airline.

The first A220-300 aircraft was recently painted at the Montreal facility where construction took place. It has the registration 9A-CAE (msn 55290).

Brand Redesign

Croatia Airlines says: “The introduction of the new fleet will mark the beginning of a new era of our operations, defined by a fresh visual identity that has been carefully crafted and optimised. This identity will place an even greater emphasis on passengers and target audiences, while also staying attuned to the evolving trends and habits of travellers. It is designed to faithfully represent the values of Croatia Airlines and help the company achieve its future objectives, ensuring the desired market positioning along the way. The company’s designer, Ivana Ivanković, developed the new design solution by simplifying and modernising the existing one.”

It features a stronger logotype of a slightly darker colour, and an updated logo seen primarily on the tail.
