Bulgaria Air has become the latest new airline to take delivery of an Airbus A220 aircraft.
The first aircraft for the carrier, LZ-ROM (55226), an A220-300, was delivered from the Montreal Mirabel production site to Sofia, via a technical stop in Oslo, over the course of 17-18 June.
Bulgaria Air already operates seven A320-200 aircraft. With the A220, it adds a new type to the fleet which offers the latest technology and fuel efficiency.
Bulgaria Air’s A220s feature 143 seats in a two-class layout. It is the first of five A220-300s the airline has on order, which are all leased from Air Lease Corporation.
It also has two A220-100s on order.
These aircraft will be used on European servies from Bulgaria Air’s bases.
