The airline is based in Warsaw, but is a restarted version of an airline which previously closed its doors in May 2011.

Today it operates a fleet of Airbus A319, A320, ATR 42 and ATR 72 aircraft.

Its announcements this week seem to be aimed at shaking up the Polish aviation scene by adding routes from five airports to destinations across Europe. This is clearly a bid to take market share from LOT Polish Airlines and Wizz Air – currently the two largest carriers in the country. It will also challenge services by Ryanair, who have a large presence in Poland.

New routes announced include:

Gdansk to: Amsterdam, Brussels, Frankfurt Hahn, Hamburg, Cologne/Bonn, Marseille, Memmingen, London Gatwick, Paris Orly, Rome Fiumicino, Venice, Verona, Reykjavik.

Bydgoszcz to: London Gatwick, Edinburgh, Bristol, Cork, Newcastle, Milan Bergamo, Dortmund, Frankfurt Hahn, Paris Orly, Rome Fiumicino, Liverpool.

Rzeszow to: Amsterdam, Dortmund, Hamburg, Memmingen, Oslo, Paris Orly, Rome Fiumicino.

Lodz to: Paris Orly, Rome Fiumicino, Frankfurt Hahn, Barcelona, Edinburgh.

Warsaw to: Amsterdam, Brussels, Hamburg, Cologne/Bonn, London Gatwick, Memmingen, Stuttgart, Frankfurt Hahn, Gothenburg, Lyon, Paris Orly, Milan Bergamo, Rome Fiumicino, Verona, Saarbrucken, Venice, Munster/Osnabruck.

These routes will start from the Winter season, at the end of October. Tickets start at 149PLN / £29 / $47

Some competition between airlines can be good, to help keep the flight prices lower.
