When Middle East carrier Emirates began its meteoric rise from small carrier into a global phenomenon serving destinations around the globe, its fleet renewal focused on the Airbus A330.

These aircraft replaced older Airbus A300 and A310 aircraft, and operated alongside early Boeing 777-200s, as well as a small fleet of Airbus A340s.

The A330 fleet was soon being used to connect Emirates’ Dubai hub with destinations in Europe, Africa and Asia and could be seen in most major airports. At its peak it comprised 29 aircraft, all of the A330-200 variant.

However, today Emirates no longer operates the A330. So what happened to these aircraft?
