10 Airlines Liveries to Look Out For in 2020

With a new year upon us, you may be wondering what’s new in the commercial airline world in 2020?

As spotters, it’s always interesting to see some new airlines and aircraft types, and especially those unusual or new liveries.

Here are 10 airline liveries to look out for in 2020.

 

ZIPAIR Tokyo

The new low-cost carrier from Japan Airlines is flying Boeing 787-8 Dreamliners in this fairly corporate livery, soon to be seen throughout the Far East.

Luke Air

Blue Panorama of Italy is rebranding as Luke Air, and introducing this elaborate livery.

 

Starlux Airlines

Starlux is a new airline from Taiwan which has just been given approval to start operations out of Taipei to destinations in Asia. It is flying Airbus A321neo aircraft.

 

Bamboo Airways

Another new carrier in Asia. Bamboo Airways is from Vietnam and has just started flying. It has a modern fleet of Airbus A319/20/21 (including some neos) and Boeing 787-9 aircraft.

 

New SAS Livery

SAS Scandinavian Airlines introduced a brand new livery at the end of 2019. First seen on its new Airbus A350 deliveries, it is also being rolled out across its fleet of A320 and A330 family aircraft and is one to watch out for this year.

 

German Airways

The collaboration between WDL and LGW in Germany has resulted in German Airways, which has unveiled this branding on its fleet of Embraer jets and Q400 turboprops.

 

Gulf Air Retro

Possibly one of the best looking retro jets to appear in recent years (and there have been a lot!), Gulf Air’s Boeing 787-9 A9C-FG is simply stunning.

 

Alliance Air Special Liveries

Australia’s Alliance Air has been adding special liveries to its fleet of Fokker 70 and Fokker 100 aircraft, including VH-QQW commemorating the anniversary of the first England to Australia flight, VH-UQG commemorating Sir Charles Edward Kingsford Smith, and VH-NUU in a special breast cancer livery.

 

New Eastern Airlines

Making its move into the scheduled services market, the new Eastern Airlines is hoping to establish itself. But will it last? Keep an eye out for its Boeing 767 aircraft.

 

Ryanair Buzz

Finally, Ryanair has rebranded its Ryanair Sun division as Buzz (you may remember this was the name of a UK low-cost airline bought by Ryanair in the early 2000s). Buzz will wear a special livery on its Boeing 737-800 (and hopefully MAX) aircraft and be seen flying across Europe.
