One of the best places to spot at San Francisco Airport (SFO) is Bayfront Park which looks across to runways 28L/R.
This location is a public park alongside the Old Bayshore Highway, a short distance from the Bayshore Freeway (101) and the airport terminals.
From this spot you can see all movements at the airport, and with a good camera lens take excellent pictures of aircraft on runways 28L/R and the taxiways linking them.
Contributor Erik Ritterbach has sent these photographs from his recent spotting trip.

Here’s a map of the location

Great tip, this has been added to my list. Funny thing is if you zoom in on the map there is a point on the map that says “Airport plane watch area”

Hi
I’m there in late July, and have even booked a hotel there too. What lens did Eric use? Ideal time of day?
Love a chat if he wants to email me?
