London City has become a hive of activity in the heart of the city. It is most popular with regional airliners operating short hops to Europe’s capital cities and business centres, and around the UK. You’ll also see many business jets passing through.
There are two main locations for spotting at London City:
1) To the right of the terminal building (when facing) there is an area overlooking the runway and part of the ramp.
2) Following the road to the right as you leave the terminal building, you will come to the GA area. A little further on gives views over the GA ramp and biz jets.
Anyone know any more good spotting locations at London City?

If you come out of the airport and turn left and follow that road to the end (quite a long way to walk, but there is a bus, cant remember the number though. Just as the road bears left to go over a bridge there is a turn off to the right leading into an industrial estate. Go into the estate and bear left under a small bridge and you emerge into a car park which is right under the approach to runway 28. This is right across a small strecth of water to the threshold. Example pictures that I took in June 2008 are at http://www.worldairpics.com/photo/1028334/M/Avro-RJ-100-Avroliner/HB-IXR/Swiss-International-Air-Lines-LX–SWR/?&sid=8222056406&sp=20 and http://www.worldairpics.com/photo/1027729/M/Fokker-50/OO-VLF/VLM-Airlines-VG–VLM/?&sid=8222056406&sp=80
If you don’t know how to get there or don’t want the hassle of sorting out what to do with your car, Harmony Cars can offer airport shuttles in luxury cars for affordable prices.
I went spotting at London City Airport and found the stop to the right of the terminal buildng the best place to spot.
if you get a dlr from stratford [is the easiest] to royal albert and then find the offices to your right there is a little embankment and an office coffee shop which is covered but outside there is a great view of the runway and no fence so great photo shots available
