Former KLM 747-400 Now In Corendon Colours for Display at Amsterdam Hotel

A recent arrival at Amsterdam Schiphol went largely unreported. It was Boeing 747-400 PH-BFB – hardly a rare movement for the airport, you may think.

In fact, this aircraft which had been flying in and out of the airport in a daily basis since 1989 had actually just spent some time in Rome receiving a new livery ahead of an exciting new role.

PH-BFB was retired in December and will now be put on display outside the Corendon headquarters and Corendon Village Hotel near Amsterdam Schiphol soon. The aircraft is already wearing the travel agency’s livery (which you’ll be familiar with from Corendon Airlines and Corendon Dutch Airlines).

It is currently sat at Schiphol but on 5th February will begin a 5-day journey across fields, ditches and roads to reach its new home, before being manoeuvred.

Once in position, PH-BFB will be transformed into the Corendon Boeing 747 Experience later this year, ready for guests to come and enjoy. The exact details of this are not yet known.

The Corendon Village Hotel promises views of Schiphol airport, so I’ll be interested to try this out and report on it with a review on this site soon.
