Air Belgium Launches – A New Way to Get To Asia

Air Belgium has launched and is now selling tickets for its first route, which will operate between Brussels and Hong Kong from later this month.

This brand new airline seemingly emerged out of nowhere, but has already sourced its first two aircraft, painted in a stylish livery.

It potentially offers a great new way to travel between Europe and Asia, especially to experience the delights of Hong Kong which is a fantastic destination for aviation enthusiasts. There’s also the promise of more destinations to come.

 

The first flight will take place on 30 April.

Flights are now on sale, with great launch prices of 449 Euros return in economy, 999 Euros in premium, and 1,799 Euros in business.

Four non-stop flights every week

If you want to go and see the aircraft in operation, Air Belgium offers four direct flights every week. An Airbus A340 will leave from Brussels South Airport to Hong Kong on Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Sunday, at 2 p.m and will land the following day at 7.30 a.m. local time. Return flights are on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday in the morning and will land at Brussels South at 6.15 p.m.

 

Air Belgium currently has a fleet of two Airbus A340-313 aircraft. They are:

  • OO-ABA (cn 835, ex-OH-LQB)
  • OO-ABB (cn 844, ex-OH-LQC)

The aircraft wear a stylised Belgian flag sweeping up the fuselage, with an bandit-style mask around the cockpit windows and black titles.

 

According to the airline, on board the Airbus A340, passengers will be immersed in a Belgian atmosphere, with a broad supply of Belgian products. In the economy and premium class, passengers have the choice between two menus and in business class three. Passengers also can enjoy a wide variety of movies or shop an extended selection of products. The multilingual crew speaks French, Dutch, English, Mandarin, and Cantonese.

Air Belgium operates from Brussels South airport at Charleroi, and from 2019 will have its own dedicated premium terminal at the airport.
