HK Express is an airline based in Hong Kong. It is part of the HNA Group, which also owns Beijing Capital, Hainan Airlines, Lucky Air and Tianjin Airlines among many others.
The airline was founded in 2004 to operate flights throughout Asia from its Chek Lap Kok base. It initially flew with Embraer 170 and Boeing 737-800 aircraft before it transitioned into a fully-fledged low-cost airline. Under this transition it acquired a fleet of narrowbody Airbus aircraft. In recent months it has been taking delivery of new A320neo aircraft.
The HK Express livery painted on its aircraft features purple and red lettering, with a purple cityscape representing Hong Kong painted on the tail and rear fuselage. A number of the aircraft feature special liveries to promote other companies of the U-Fly alliance.
