TWA Hotel

This is one of the most interesting developments for aviation enthusiasts at any US airport in my opinion.

While we’ve known about the new TWA Hotel that has been developed within the iconic Eero Sarinen building at JFK airport that was formerly the TWA terminal, there have been few details about it other than brief descriptions and mockup images.

Well, today reservations for this hotel are officially live and you can now book your trip to stay in the building from 15 May 2019.

Some of its highlights include:

  • Observation Deck – watch the aircraft action at JFK
  • Airport View Rooms – spot from the comfort of your room – something not really possible at JFK previously
  • Preserved Lockheed Constellation – enjoy a drink in this historic aircraft which is now a cocktail lounge.
  • Museum dedicated to TWA and the jet age

The hotel is located right outside Terminal 5 and is convenient for travel to and from all terminals, as well as the AirTrain.

You can read about how the Lockheed Constellation was transported to the hotel in our article, here: http://www.airportspotting.com/twa-hotel-constellation-jfk/

We’re not sure exactly how good the views from the rooms or observation decks will be yet as no one has stayed at the hotel. I do plan to try it out as soon as possible to report back to you.

In the meantime, if you visit, please send us a report and your pictures!
